All songs are self penned except Bela Lugsi's Dead.
I do love the original & i always thought to cover this song was hard, but the boys done good & i can see this being a gig favourite.
Well the CD starts with a band, full on Psycho & guess what no heavy metal guitar, GREAT START !
Howlin' Love is well written & shows a bit of depth in their musicianship.
Hellbilly Voodoo is my fav so far, some good surf reverb guitar.
Shame the Last song is a bit week compared to the rest of the songs!
One thing to criticise as with most Psycho cds, the cover is only 4 sides. It dont really tell me too much about the band. I always thought to buy a record or cd, one of the great things is read the cover note. Next time boys more photos & words !
all in all a good Psycho CD, back to the basics with quality.
I give it 7/10
My advise is to buy this CD & get to see them. So they need to be on the big festival bills !!!!

Geniales und frisches Erstlingswerk. Rusty Cage bewegen sich irgendwo zwischen Lost Souls, Cyclones und 2009!! Italo-Psychobilly at it best!
Einzig das Booklet ist sehr "dünn".

Eine Psychobilly Band aus Italien und dann noch aus Venedig , ich bin gespannt und frage mich gleichzeitig ob die alle als Gondolieri arbeiten? Naja, als Fan der Cyclones freue ich mich auf die Songs. Mit "I like Ghost" haben die Jungs gleich einen guten Opener, der Bass kommt gut und so soll es doch sein beim Psychobilly. Es geht weiter mit "Headcutter Promenade" und "Howlin Love". Beide ganz ok, wobei "Howlin Love" etwas mehr punktet.
"Bella Lugosi`s Dead" könnte auch von P.O.X. stammen, erinnert mich jedenfalls sehr stark an die deutsche Psychobilly Band. Bei der Nr. 5 auf der CD bin ich das erste Mal überrascht, mit "Phantom Cowboy" ist den Jungs eine sehr coole Nummer mit Countryeinflüssen gelungen, die mir sehr gut gefällt. "Dial666" und "Hellbilly Voodoo" schließen eigentlich an die Songs 3 und 4 an und wissen auch zu gefallen. Jetzt kommt mit dem Lied 8 eine Nummer daher, die live sicher für einen vollen Wreckin Pit sorgen dürfte, schnell und hart. Ich denke so bei mir, dass ich jetzt die Italiener einschätzen kann und dann kommen sie mit "Bump in the Night" und da haben sie sogar eine Mundharmonika im Einsatz und das kommt mal richtig gut. Jetzt kommt auch das Finale der CD mit "Rust in Peace".
Also mein Fazit: Rusty Cage ist eine coole Band, die Psychobilly spielt mit Punkeinflüssen, ohne dabei die eigentliche Herkunft des Psychobilly zu vergessen. Für die erste CD ist das Ganze sehr gelungen. Bewertung: 8/10

Noch ziemlich neu im Psychobilly Sektor kommt hier, neben einigen Live Auftritten, das erste Lebenszeichen der Italienischen Psychos auf CD und versucht mit Punkigen Oldschool-Psychobilly zu überzeugen. Mit waghalsiger Geschwindigkeit stampft man sich durch das übliche Horror-Repertoire und streut hier und da immer wieder mal ein langsameres Stück oder eine ruhigere Passage mit ein. Nach einigen Durchläufen bestätigt sich jedoch mein Gefühl das mir das ganze zum Teil etwas sperrig wirkt. Von der Geschwindigkeit her haben die Songs durchaus Bestand und reißen schon mit aber ich komm insgesamt gesehen bei dem Sound einfach nicht so richtig in Fahrt. Da klackert zwar so wie es sich gehört der Bass und für Abwechslung wird auch gesorgt, egal ob in Form einer Coverversion des legendären Bauhaus-Stücks „ Bela Lugosis Dead“ oder die Mundharmonika die man bei „Bump In The Night“ einsetzt, aber so richtig zünden will das Gemisch bei mir trotzdem nicht. Wobei ich anerkennen muss dass man sich mit „Bela Lugosis Dead“ auch einen ziemlich schweren Brocken aufs Album geholt hat. Schon im Original war das Stück nicht wirklich erträglich mit seinen Zehn Minuten Laufzeit, wer das original kennt weiß was ich meine. Von daher ist es schon ganz angenehm dass die Jungs es auf 4 Minuten gekürzt und um einiges an Geschwindigkeit beschleunigt haben. Aber zurück zum Gesamteindruck der Platte. Die Zutaten die die Jungs auf dem Album verarbeitet haben sind nicht wirklich neu und da hätte ich mir zum überzeugen einiges mehr an Eingängigkeit und Überraschungseffekten gewünscht. Das ganze kann man zwar für ein Debut durchaus gelten lassen aber auf Dauer muss da schon mehr kommen. Gerade noch mal an der schlechten Note vorbei geschlittert! 4 Daniel

RUSTY CAGE proceden de Italia, y son otra prometedora formación de PSYCHOBILLY con los pies firmemente anclados en el sonido clásico, pero con el talento, la actitud, innovación y contundencia para resultar originales y no un mero clon de los grupos de una época dorada que jamás volverá. Su sonido es rápido, oscuro (genial versión de BAUHAUS) y convincente, bien tocado, con contrabajo correcto, buenas guitarras y voz limpia. A tener en cuenta ya que seguro que en el futuro nos van a dar más de una alegria.

A psychobilly band from Italy and then from Venice, I am curious and am wondering whether the same work as all the gondoliers? Well, as a fan of the Cyclones, I'm looking forward to the songs. With "I like Ghost," the guys like a good opener, the bass is good and so it should be but at the Psychobilly. It continues with "Head Cutter Promenade" and "Howlin 'Love." Both quite ok, with "Howlin 'Love' is something more scores.
"Bella Lugosi's Dead" could also P.O.X. , are certainly reminded me very strongly to the German Psychobilly band. When No. 5 on the CD, I'm surprised the first time with "The Phantom Cowboy" the guys managed a very cool number with country influences, which I like very much. "Dial666" and "Voodoo Hellbilly" actually connect to the song 3 a.m. to 4 p.m., and also like to know. Now comes with the song 8 is a number, therefore, to live safely should serve for a full Wreckin Pit, fast and hard. I think to myself that I can now appreciate the Italians and then they come with "Bump in the Night" and they even have a harmonica in use and the time is really good. Now comes the finale of the CD with "Rust in Peace".
So my conclusion: "Rusty Cage" is a cool band that plays with the psychobilly punk influences, without forgetting the true origin of the Psycho Billy. For the first CD the whole thing is very successful. Rating: 8 / 10



Still fairly new to the psychobilly sector here is, besides some live performances, the first sign of the Italian Psychos on CD and tried with old-school punk psychobilly convincing. With daring speed one stomps through the usual repertoire of horror and sprinkled here and there every now and then a slower or with a quieter passage with this book. After several iterations, however, confirmed my feeling that seems to me the whole part somewhat unwieldy. Speed-wise, the songs do have stock and have to tear but I come with a whole when the sound is not really easy to ride. Because although klackert as befits the bass and some variation is also taken care of, whether in the form of a cover version of the legendary Bauhaus-play "Bela Lugosi Dead" or the harmonica, the one in "Bump in the Night" is working, but really will not ignite the mixture with me anyway. Although I must admit that it has taken with "Bela Lugosi Dead" also a pretty serious chunk onto the album. Even in the original, the piece was not really bearable with his ten minutes, who knows the original know what I mean. So it is quite nice that they've reduced it to 4 minutes and speeds up a lot of speed. But back to the overall impression of the plate. The ingredients are processed to the guys on the album are not really new and I would have liked a lot more to convince me to the catchiness and surprise effects. The whole can indeed be considered for a debut, but certainly in the long run has to come as even more. Just in time for the bad rating slid past! 4 Daniel


RUSTY CAGE da Italia, e sono un'altra formazione promettenti PSYCHOBILLY con i piedi saldamente ancorato al classico suono, ma con il talento, l'atteggiamento, l'innovazione e la vigoria di essere originale e non un semplice clone dei gruppi di un'epoca d'oro mai più. Il loro sound è veloce, scuro (versione cool della Bauhaus) e convincente, ben suonato, con il basso corretta, chitarre e voce pulita bene. Si prega di notare che l'assicurazione per il futuro ci darà più di una gioia.

i concerti ci saltano come tappi di spumante a capodanno, ultimamente... cmq quando avremo completato il riassetto con il nuovo batterista saremo pronti a rimetterci in strada e non mancheremo di tenere aggiornati i Sinnerlandiani.

Eeehhh a berghèm è dura, tra città e provincia ci sono la bellezza di 0 locali dove poter fare musica dal vivo che non sia jazz o roba acustica (i vicini si lamentano). Però appena di là dell'adda, in brianza, ci sono paio di bei locali a cui penso romperò le scatole molto presto...
